Why she's inspiring: Phoebe created her website Blaria (i.e., Black Daria), despite the protest of a member of her management team who did not understand the concept of blogging. She also hosts the live comedy show 2 Dope Queens with her friend and fellow comedian Jessica Williams. And Phoebe writes comedically poignant works, including recaps of Empire for VanityFair.com and an upcoming collection of essays on race, gender, and pop culture called You Can't Touch My Hair.
