“‘You’re the only person I want to spend forever with.’ ‘I’m so lucky you’re in my life.’”

“Getting better.” Thatcher removed her headphones.
On the other side of the recording booth’s window, Bram spoke into the standing microphone. “Is that really what women want to hear?”
“The women who play our game, yes.”
“So simple,” Bram sighed. “Why can’t I nail the voice?”
Thatcher entered his padded room. She touched Bram’s firm shoulder. “You’re close.”
“Help me?”
Her palm lingered. “What do you need?”
“Tell me what to do,” he growled, yearning. “Please.”
“Perfect. Now, into the mic.”
