Fire Junction adjacent

Of the twelve states that made up the country of Elle, four were home to over half the population: Capital City, Maya, Rose of Sharon, and Waters, in that order.

Home for Truly was Maya, the place where she had spent her childhood, until leaving for Rose of Sharon to study at Henrietta Burns Colvin University. Capital City was where Truly's adulting began after graduating with honors and shuffling papers in a government office until graduate school. Waters had not been on Truly’s radar, except for as the fourth corner of Fire Junction.

With the numbers of travelers who passed through the transportation hub all day every day, Fire Junction was an ecosystem unto itself. The above- and below-ground interchange, larger than any of Elle's airports, contained, among other amenities, its own hospital, fire station, shopping centers, recreational areas, hotels, and infant through adult school systems.

And the company was located right next door, in a cushy, yet vibrant Rose of Sharon suburb. “Easy access to our assortment of clients,” Hallie explained to Truly during the second round of the interview process as they walked through the bright front lobby of the company’s low rise building.

“So, they are not mostly local?” Truly asked as the two took the elevator up. She had done her research–both primary and secondary, along with a ear to the rumor mill–but she could confirm only a handful of on-the-record partnerships in the company's approximately four-score existence.

Hallie led the candidate toward the executive dining room, which Truly would soon discover contained both a smiling group of her future fellow junior associates and a wait staff ready to serve her favorite brunch. “Truly, our clients are everywhere you want to be.”
