Talented Tuesdays: Brittney Cooper

It's Talented Tuesday! Each week, For Nerdy Girls features a digital innovator who inspires colorful women around the world. These are individuals who should be celebrated on a global level, so we'll start by talking about these changemakers right here.

Name: Brittney Cooper

Twitter: @ProfessorCrunk

Website: brittneycooper.com

What she does: Brittney is an author, speaker, feminist theorist, and Assistant Professor of Women’s and Gender Studies and Africana Studies at Rutgers University.

Why she's inspiring: Brittney co-founded the Crunk Feminist Collective, "a space of support and camaraderie for hip hop generation feminists of color, queer and straight, in the academy and without," "a rhetorical community, in which we can discuss our ideas, express our crunk feminist selves, fellowship with one another, debate and challenge one another, and support each other, as we struggle together to articulate our feminist goals, ideas, visions, and dreams in ways that are both personally and professionally beneficial."

Wow. What a mission.
